This is a long overdue message to say many thanks to the Parish Council for all you do to care for Rough Common village but particularly for the attractive flower tubs that have looked so beautiful in all seasons and , I’m sure, cheered many of us up as we pass them. The many bulbs you supplied that we were all encouraged to plant look great each in the spring. Work to establish and brighten up our bus stops might seem a bit redundant at the moment, but who knows, one day the bus service might return?
On a more serious note, I’m sure you all agree that Rough Common road is becoming more and more difficult to cross at peak travel times. We’ve lived in the village for 46 years, long enough to remember the death of an eleven year old girl who was tragically knocked down by a non speeding driver, just opposite the post office. We would be very keen to support a pedestrian crossing on the road. ( can hear the opposition shouting about enormous traffic jams it would cause, as I write!)
Thanks for organising the reinstatement the path and the mending of the climbing frame at Pine Meadow. Much appreciated.
Thank you for your recent Harbledown & Rough Common notes which were interesting.
No doubt someone has already told you that there is a mistake in the Word Search – Maundaymoney should of course read Maundymoney.
Best wishes to all
Whoops, sorry we missed that
